The 5th edition is here and I'm excited to read it.
Pluses: the text is smaller, making the book less heavy. There's an ear section. There are more images. The gen path section has more professional illustrations. The customer service for the online information was excellent.
Minuses: there's an ear section ;) More memorization ahead. I was disappointed that the online access advertised in the book is not yet available. I was hoping to get started right away.

I am very pleased with this book. It is very easy to read (for a textbook)and has great pictures. I did not have the earlier edition so I can't compare the two, but this book is great.
